Dear AUIS Students,
Eight months ago, playwright, scholar and Former Ambassador Akbar Ahmed gave AUIS students permission to perform his play, Noor, for the first time ever in the Middle East.
Can you believe it? Well, believe it, because beginning this Tuesday, the actors are ready. The technicians are ready. The play is ready. The only thing we need now is you.
WARNING: Noor deals with a struggling family during an American occupation. There is bad language, violence, religious arguments and conversations that are generally not for kids. In other words, it’s going to be fun, but not if you are easily offended.
You have a choice of attending 3 different performances!

Noor will take place across the highway from our campus at Sulaimani University’s College of Fine Arts. Leah will be providing transportation before and after the show (buses begin leaving at 4:45) so please don’t run across the highway! The play is good, but not good enough to risk your life for.
Tickets are on sale this week in the cafeteria, every day, from 11:30 to 1:00 pm.
The price…zero dinar. It’s free.
All you need to do for a ticket is to go the cafeteria and sign your name to this agreement:
1. You will be a guest of Sulaimani University and you will be respectful at all times.
2. You will not bring phones or cameras into the theater (security will be taking cameras and phones at the door).
3. You will not change your mind about attending! No switching dates! There are only 250 seats in the theater. Please – if you are given a ticket and don’t come to the play, that seat will be empty and another student won’t get to go.
And that’s all you need to get a ticket.
Remember: no one without a correct date on their ticket will be admitted into the theater.
