AUIS Students and Faculty Staff Members: "Love Your Enemies."

Mahdi Murad
You may all aware of a movie that has been produced recently which offends Islam, the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), and all the Muslims around the world. We, Muslims, are against any ideas that disrespects Islam and our beloved prophet(peace be upon him). Similarly, we have respect for all the other religions. We disagree with anyone who unethically behave toward any religious ideas. However, we should act responsibly when a person or a group of people hurts our feelings by saying bad words to what we consider as sacred, Islam and prophet Mohammad in this case. We should follow what Islam and our prophet teach us that is peace and brotherhood only.

The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani combines various group of people both in Iraq and outside Iraq. It is a place where we, Muslims, Christians, Jewish and several other religious groups, attend classes and discuss religion, history, and various other topics that touch every single of  us differently. However, we have never hurt each other's feelings. So, everyone please be responsible so that we can be friends for ever. We should never judge millions of people or an entire country based on a movie. That single movie does not reflect those millions. We all have friends who are Jewish and Christians, and we love each other. Let's not destroy that friendship and love but develop it more so that we will be able to guide such small number of ignorant people who speak and act with no sense. Let's ask God to guide those who involved in this movie and whoever hates Islam and any other religions to the truth. Let's not be aside of those ignorant people who want to turn our planet to even worse than what it already is. Violence and hatred will never help us. It is always peace and friendship that direct us toward a better life."Love your enemies," are the best words that we should all live by. Those small group of people who involved in the movie are not only the enemies of Islam, but the entire planet. Their message is to spread violence in our planet. We should join our hands instead of turn their dreams into reality by spreading violence around the world. It is simply ridiculous to kill an American because the movie was produced in America. It is simply the act of the most ignorant person ever. Islam is completely against that, and it is never what the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) has taught us. We should all respect each other and each other's religion and stay away from violence.

Yours,
The Third Eye

  1. This is why whoever stands up, writes about Islam if we give them a lesson, they will not do that again. This is their education. They should be respectful toward Muslims, otherwise, we should have reaction.

  2. As an American and a Christian Humanitarian, I condemn what this so called "American individual," has done to dishonor your faith and the Muslim people.
There are people around the world who feel it is their right to hurt and disrespect others. They are not representative of America. America is a place where many have come to have the freedom to worship their faith, when they could not elsewhere. This individual shows no respect. Please pray that he understands the shame and violence he has brought forward and not peace. Please forgive this individual through prayer for they are not right within themselves, their own honor or their conscience. A person who does these acts does not need an education about Islam, they need to educate themselves about respecting all people of all faiths.
Blessings to you and your people of the Islam faith. My deepest apology on behalf of this person. Please show him you will not be influenced by his dishonorable act.

  3. So you advocate violence? Shouldn't, then, the violence be directed toward those who made the movie? You are a coward, as are those who would use the excuse to kill a diplomat who had nothing to do with this movie.

Shame on you, and shame on those who committed this murder.

  4. I am sorry you have interpreted my prayers for peace as acceptance of violence. I will not be like this horrific and disgusting individual. I do not believe any faith allows for violence. Would I be as terrible as this person if I was violent in return. This person should be punished and held responsible to the fullest extent of the law. This may be life in prison or the death penalty here. At the level of the people we are not allowed to make this decision. However, there are many Americans demanding justice on the behalf of the Muslim community. I pray everyday for peace in this world and for evil to leave all us. Blessings to you.

  5. The coward is the movie maker and publisher. How come this person has not brought this movie to a Muslim community if they are so proud of themselves. Instead this person hides behind Youtube technology. Ask this person to show their face and be responsible for their actions of disrespect.

  6. Be careful what you wish for my friend. If sheer ability to cause pain and damage is a path we should go on, I am not sure if you will end up on a beneficial side. I think that a peaceful resolution is in everyone's best interest.

  7. Thanks dear Anonymous,
What we have seen and experienced so far was nothing even close to a peaceful resolution which is really unfortunate.
