The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani Students Started Donating the Victims of Wan by Deed!

Wednesday Oct 26, 2011, Sulaimani-Iraq- The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani  students announced a campagin to donate the victims of the Wan earthquake. They started the campagin by placing a donation box at the manin entrance of the academic building of AUIS.
The students who organized the campaign said that they arranged that humanitarian campaign to share their sentiment for the victims.
“We, a group of the AUIS students, organized that campaign to collect money for the victims of the Wan earthquake,” said Hawdang kamal, one of the organizers of the campaign. “We feel responsible as human to share our sentiment and condolence for the victims of that tragic event.”
The campaign will be continued for a week or more accoring to the organizers of the campagin .
“We will continue collecting money for the victims for a week or more than a week,” stated Sharif Hamza, another student who actively participated in organizing the campaign. “Later, we will send the money to the victims. We want to collect as much money as we can in order to help the victims.”

It is worth mentioning that the AUIS helped the students a lot in organizing that campaign. It informed the students about the campaign by sending out an e-mail for all the AUIS students and faculty staff members.
According to the e-mail that was sent out for all the students on behalf of a group who organized the campaign, they contacted with the Mayor of the City of Wan (Bekir Kaya) to deliver the donations.
“We have contacts with the Mayor of the City of Wan (Bekir Kaya) to send the donations.” stated in the e-mail.
The campaign started by placing a donation box that the students and faculty staff members of AUIS put their donations. The donation box is placed at the main entrance of the academic building.
