What Do You Think About Mr. Geoffrey Gresk?

The Thirdy Eye is pleased to take some moments and have Mr. Geoffrey Gresk to be evaluated by his fellow students and friends at The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. We prefer constructed comments, and we would be happier if commenters write their names when they comment. We would also  like to hear specifically from those who know Mr. Gresk and have had classes with him.

For those of you who do not know Mr. Gresk.

According to AUIS website, "Gresk has been working in development and education for over ten years.  After serving for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cape Verde, Gresk worked as an HIV prevention specialist in the Chicago Public Schools. He holds a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to being a teacher, Gresk is also the Assistant Dean of Academic Integrity."

We look forward to hearing you constructed comments about Mr. Gresk.

Last but not least, The Third Eye is pleased to announce that there will be more similar posts about other AUIS professors and faculty staff members so that they will be able to know how their fellow AUIS students and friends feel about them. Our goal is, again, to bring the best and most comfortable environment ever for each and every member of AUIS community.

  1. Geoff is a fine fellow. He was among my favorite people when I was briefly on the faculty at AUIS. Despite the reputation that he had among some students when I was there, he is principled, generous, and even kind in a position that would tempt a lesser man to act beyond proper measure. AUIS is very lucky indeed to have him. --Daniel H. Fernald, Ph.D.

  2. I don't know what is good about him? why AUIS has given that a high position!!!! I was his student for one of his classes, i swear to God I have friends at high school they know more than what he know!!! He doesn't know anything, he just counted the minutes to dismiss the class!! Also he also abuse his power as the Assistant Dean!! I hope AUIS replace him with a some one who deserves that high position!!!

  3. AUIS will be a better place without him. He is trying to be part of every problem but does not solve one properly. He is there to side with faculty members and accuse students for any issue that comes up. He has no respect for students. His fake smile is not sign of ‘generosity, kindness’, as Dr. Fernal talks about. Why he should be generous or kind? AUIS is not a hospital or a charity organization. Students need somebody who is fair and can understand them. He is always tired of every student. You can always see a question mark on his face saying, who are these people? And this man has a favorite phrase when students come to him, says, “ I don’t have time for this. I have other things to deal with”.

  4. To be honest, Geoff is a very fine teacher and man. He is fair and intelligent. Yes, people, he is fair. For every student who complains about him, he is doing his job. Put yourself in his shoes. Plus, he is very polite and respectful; he is always there to help students. If you think I am an asskisser, I want to let you know that I have two strikes. He did not give me those strikes, but I EARNED them, and he dealt with the matter with complete fairness. Students think he is bad because of his position, but I think AUIS needs such a strong man to deal with students who love to control their professors.
