Dan Reimold, American journalist and professor, is Assistant Professor of journalism and Faculty adviser of the Minaret Newspaper at the University of Tampa. He is the editor and main writer for College Media Matters,a blog affiliated with the Associated Collegiate Press, the largest and oldest U.S journalism organization. Mr. Reinmold mostly writes about the student press throughout the U.S and in Southeast Asia. He arrived to AUI-S on Thursday may 10, 2011and was at AUI-S for about two weeks to write a research about the Voice. The Third Eye had a quick chat with Mr. Reimold, and he stated several interesting things about AUI-S environment.

The first interesting thing that Mr. Reimold mentioned was about the AUI-S Cafeteria. Unlike almost all the AUI-S members, he said that he was really inspired by the cafeteria food. “The Cafeteria food is really good.”As he said.
Mr. Reimold added that the AUI-S Voice has developed a lot.“I am so excited by how the Voice has developed,” he said. “I have read every single issue of the Voice.”
Another thing that Mr. Reimold was really inspired by was the enthusiasm that the AUI-S students had in getting their education.
“I see students who are truly interested in education that they are getting.” He added.
Mr. Reinmold stated that The Third Eye kept the tone of the blog very readable.
“In many ways even you are just getting started,” he said. “recognize what you are doing is very extraordinary. I would keep doing what you are doing. You keep the tone of the blog very personal and very readable, which I think is really important nowadays. I hope you keep everything as objective as possible. Recognize that you would be the star of the show.”
OnWednesday 18, 2011, at the main building of AUI-S, Mr. Reinmold presented a presentation about “Why Students Will Save Journalism – and the World (Wide Web).”
During his presentation, he demonstrated several interesting stories that have been reported by the student newspapers. Furthermore, he shared several first newspapers and blogs that were published and created long ago. Also, he explained the importance behind the student newspapers. “Students journalists are mostly over potential.” He added.
