S, Will not be Removed from AUIS

by The Third Eye
A recent e-mail that has been sent out by James R. Harrigan, dean of the students, explains that both the name of the university and its acronym will be the same as the old ones with only some changes in their design. According to the e-mail, it was just a rumour that anyone as has ever tended to remove Sulaimani from the name of the American University. below is the exact e-mail from Dr. James

Dear Faculty and Students,

The following text was sent as a press release late this afternoon.  It is included here for your information.
_____________________________________________________
The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani will be launching a new logo and a new Web site in the coming weeks. On Wednesday evening, as the student body got word of such a rebranding effort, rumors circulated that the “S” of Sulaimani would be dropped from the name of the university. That is not the case at all: the university will still be called American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. The acronym of the university will continue to be AUIS, with only a new graphic design. Everyone will see this is the case when the new logo and the new site are unveiled.

Neither  the university administration nor  the Board of trustees intend to remove the “S” from the university name.

Best,
Harrigan
Dean of Students
